Wednesday, the 22nd January, was D day for the Cister Agrupamento as the students of four different schools, D. Pedro I, D. Inês de Castro, Frei Estevão Martins and Pataias, surrendered to the mastery of the Avalon Theatre Company, which presented them with the play MACBETH, by Shakespeare.
A play within a play, half tragedy, half comedy the audience was magically transported to a world of kings who were murdered to be replaced by other kings; witches whose prophecies became true and interactive viewers who anxiously waited to take part in this dazzling, amazing and astonishing play.
In Cineteatro of Alcobaça, the Globe itself, teachers and students enthusiastically applauded the astounding and remarkable performance of these actors and actresses whose voices and rhythm touched our hearts and made us believe the world is really a beautiful place to live in and the war inside ourselves calmed down for a while.
